We love to go on trips.  This summer Year 3 went to The Gauntlet Bird of Prey park in Knutsford.  The children found out all about different birds and experienced handling them.

Did you know that some owls can have a wing span of 1 metre? Owls come in all sorts of different sizes and this one was one of the biggest, called Roger. They found out Roger was a girl when she layed an egg!

The children had fantastic time and they will certainly remember it for a long time.

 

Even the grown-ups had a go at handling the birds!

Roge was quite a heavy owl and this little boy neede help to hold her.  He is wearing a glove called a gauntlet, owls claws are very sharp, that is how they kill their prey.
